Athlete Ina Cernei (57 kg class) lost the first para judo battle at the Paris Paralympic Games. She lost 10:0 to Alfiya Tlekkabyl of Kazakhstan, who won by ippon, IPN reports.
This was the athlete’s debut at the Paris Summer Paralympics. She was also the first Paralympic judoka to represent Moldova at this level.
In the men’s para judo event, the Republic of Moldova will be represented by Oleg Crețul and Ion Basoc, who rank second in the world in the up to 90kg and 90+ weight classes. They will both contend on September 7.
