Independence Day festivities will start in Chisinau at 9:00 with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Stephen the Great statue, followed at 9:45 by official speeches by acting President Marian Lupu and Prime Minister Vlad Filat at the Great Assembly Square, and a military parade 15 minutes later, Info-Prim Neo reports. A thematic collective performance titled “For You, My Country!” will begin at 11:00, featuring folk music and dance bands and pop singers. A wreath-laying ceremony will also take place at Eternity Memorial starting 11:40. At 12:00, the National Museum of History will inaugurate an exhibition highlighting the battle flag of medieval Moldavia's ruler Stephen the Great. At 13:10, the Interethnic Bureau will host a performance featuring folk bands that represent various ethnic groups living in Moldova and also bands from Ukraine. A military brass parade will start in the Great Assembly Square at 14:30. At 16:15, the National Children and Youth Center ARTICO will present a literary and musical performance. A choreographic show will begin in the Great Assembly Square at 18:15, featuring the National Academic Folk Dance Ensemble “Joc”. Starting 19:30, the Advahov Brothers Folk Orchestra will perform in a show titled “The House of Our Souls”, which will be followed by a concert with pop singers, plastic actors and modern ballet performers. Fireworks will be launched at 22:00. The festivities will culminate with a recital performance by the band Zdob şi Zdub, which will last until 23:00
