Insurance of equilibrium in society is ‘sweet cherry’ on City’s Day cake, Dorin Chirtoaca

The ‘sweet cherry’ on the cake of the City’s Day in the view of the Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca means insurance of equilibrium in the society by participating in the concert by invitees from the West and the East dedicated to this holiday. The mayor told Info-Prim Neo that the concert starts in the Great National Assembly Square at 17.00. It will bring together such Moldovan singers as Aura, Geta Voinovan, Olia Tira, Adrian Ursu, Anatol Dumitras, Iurie Sadovnic, Nelly Ciobanu, the bands Akord, Noroc, Catharsis, the national orchestra “Lautarii” conducted by Nicolae Botgros, soloists Vasile Iovu, Lidia Bejenaru, Nicolae Cibotaru, Adriana Ochisanu, Ion Paladi, Ioana Capraru and Nicolae Glib as well as Laura Lavric, Stefan Banica Junior and the band Fly Project from Romania and the Russian band Bravo. Dorin Chirtoaca said every year the holiday is organized in a different way, according to the wishes of the people and the ideas of the organizers. Traditionally, the local public administration makes different gifts for the Chisinau residents like new trolleybus lines, reconstructed roads, new gas pipelines, opening of new schools, etc. This year, the City Hall continued the tradition and repaired the road in Vaduleni village, constructed an aqueduct that supplies water along the Chisinau-Bacioi-Byk route. The long-expected works to remove the unpleasant smell started at the wastewater treatment station. Two apartment buildings for vulnerable groups of people are under construction, etc. “We continue to make good things and will step up efforts in the future,” the mayor said. This year, the holiday will be opened officially in front of the God’s Birth Cathedral immediately after the religious ceremony. The City’s Day started to be celebrated on October 14, 2000 after the Chisinau City Hall and representatives of both Metropolitan Churches - the Metropolitan Church of Moldova and the Metropolitan Church of Bessarabia – chose the Protection of Virgin Marry as the feast when to celebrate the City’s Day.
