Intellectuals from CIS to meet in Chisinau

Presidents of the Academy of Sciences, Ministers of Education and Culture, people of culture and arts from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will come together in Chisinau for the CIS Intellectuality Forum during September 24 – 25. They will discuss problems faced by the youth and the science, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the importance of the forum resides in the necessity of promoting and strengthening the cultural and scientific cooperation relations between the CIS states. The forum is also an occasion for exchanging opinions, ideas and experience. The intellectuals aim to contribute to the development of cooperation between people and of the human potential. Besides working meetings, the forum will also include a cultural program involving Moldovan and CIS artists. There will be staged art exhibitions. The Meeting of the International Association of Academies of Sciences will be held in parallel with the forum. The first CIS Intellectuality Forum took place in Moscow in 2006. The next two forums were hosted by Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
