The feelings of love and envy, the intrigues and many regrets are the subject of the play “Cabaret Jacksonville” that will be premiered at the Luceafarul National Theater from May 2. The play written by a Ukrainian theater critic is directed by Boris Focsa, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The action takes place in a cabaret. It is a love story about a young composer and a cabaret actress. The main character, Pam, goes to New York to become a star. When there, she realizes she made a mistake as the most important thing between life and death is love. If you abandon love, there is nothing else left,” Boris Focsa told a news conference. According to the director, “Cabaret Jacksonville” is a play about life as a vicious circle from where the protagonist manages to evade, but pays a high cost. Her only true love and the success that she will never know on Broadway remain in Jacksonville. The change that she wanted so badly pushed her into a new vicious circle. She understands she suffered great losses and returns to the provinces, managing also to return her love. “It is an intriguing play for spectators. Nowadays, we also meet people that are puppets and do not attach much value to the soul,” said Stela Focsa, who plays the part of Pam. Performances will be given on May 2, 3, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 starting at 18.00. Tickets cost between 30 and 60 lei.
