Several people are suspected of distributing child pornography online. According to the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, over five thousand files that were downloaded from the Internet, display scenes with children and abusers involved in real scenes of a sexual nature. These videos were recorded abroad.
Asked by IPN, the PCCOCS communicator, Emil Gaitur, said that the evidence is examined as a result of searches conducted at six locations in Chișinău. It is not excluded that the seized computers could be used by several people. An expertise which aims to determine the identity of the person who distributed the child pornography is ongoing.
The suspects are investigated at large. If found guilty, they face a prison term from one to three years.
