The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), in concert with the Security and Information Service, finished the investigation into the case of Eduard Baghirov. Earlier this week, the PGO officially charged Baghirov with participation in the mass disorder of April 2009 in central Chisinau as part of a criminal group, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the PGO says the accumulated proofs show that during 2008 and the first quarter of 2009, Eduard Baghirov, penetrating the social environment as a ‘blogger or ‘writer’ and using mass manipulation technologies, actively took part in the planning and implementation of provocative measures aimed at undermining the pre- and post-electoral process for the April 5, 2009 parliamentary elections. According to the plan, these distortions were to become a kind of ‘Twitter revolution’, while the responsibility for the serious consequences of the violent acts were to be put on the opposition forces. According to the prosecutors, the inappropriate fulfillment of the duties by officials of the Ministry of the Interior and the Security and Information Service on April 6-7, 2009 formed part of the same scenario. Eduard Baghirov is a member of the Pseudo-Literary Agency, which is a virtual platform for forming the public opinion in Russia and the CIS, especially where the population is divided according to ethno-linguistic principles, says the PGO. The Russian citizen was arrested on June 16 this year.
