The Party of Socialists’ candidate for mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said an Investment Map of Chisinau will be designed and presented to the public until next February. In his electoral program, the candidate says there will also be presented a complete list for public-private partnerships for the whole municipality, including the suburbs, IPN reports.
Ion Ceban said that when he is elected mayor, together with his team he will open a new subzone of the Free Economic Zone “Expo-Business-Chisinau” that proved its efficiency (over 40 residents, investments of over US$ 70 million and more than 2,000 employees). Another promise is to support the creation of new industrial parks, including by offering assistance in rebuilding infrastructure and industrial areas and in training employees.
The Socialist candidate promises a mechanism for subsidizing the interest rates on loans for financing priority projects. He intends to create an Agency for Developing Chisinau given that almost one third of the population is concentrated in the capital city, but there is no professional body specialized in the complex development of the municipality here. Among the duties of the Agency will be to work out in detail the strategic plan for developing the municipality, to develop investment projects and monitor these and to look for investors in Moldova and abroad.
Ion Ceban said the consultations initiated by the Party of Socialists two years ago, with each mayor of the communities that form part of the municipality, will be continued. Together they will agree the most important projects for developing each suburban locality. Among the priorities included in the program is also the designing of a municipal program for supporting young specialists and businesspeople.
