"We want to restore the mechanism of social dialogue and we will give you all the support where we can and where is needed," said Prime Minister Ion Chicu at a meeting with representatives of trade unions and employers' organizations. In the dialogue, the chief of the executive has mentioned that he is a supporter of a healthy social dialogue, oriented towards the economic development of the country and the increase of the tax base, IPN reports.
"We will consult the social partners as regards the relevant decisions. I also want to invite you to contribute with ideas for the development of the Government's action plan, meant to determine the modernization of the national economy and the increase in the well-being of people”, stated Ion Chicu, quoted in a press release of the Government.
The prime minister has stressed that the executive is determined to take all the necessary steps to implement the provisions of the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement. In the same context, Ion Chicu has said that there will be changes in the field of remuneration, especially in the sectors where the employees' incomes are very small.
"We are going through a complicated period, because we do not have a tax policy draft law for next year, nor a draft amending budget for 2020. Therefore, we will have to work under emergency conditions and try to find common ground with our social partners,” mentioned the prime minister.
