Ion Dosca wins bronze at veterans checkers champs

The Great International Checkers Master Ion Dosca won a bronze medal at the World Youth and Veterans Checkers Championship held in the Ukrainian town Eupatoria. The competition that brought together 130 sportspersons from 10 countries closed on September 13, Info-Prim Neo reports. Dosca ranked third in the over 50 years category, classic game. He was surpassed by Russia's Yuri Koroliov and Ukraine's Sergey Boiko. Ion Dosca is considered the best Moldovan checkers player. He won the USSR Cup (1980 and 1990), and the titles of champion of the Soviet Union, Russian checkers (1991), world champion, universal checkers, (1999), and of U.S champion, pool-checkers (2000). He is a also multiple checkers champion of Moldova.
