MP Veaceslav Ionita said he will be discharged from the post of chairman of the Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance so that the illegalities committed with the involvement of the leader of the PLDM are not disclosed further. In a news conference before the Parliament’s sitting, the lawmaker invited Vlad Filat to debate live the leasing out of the Chisinau International Airport and the sale of the state-owned shareholding in Banca de Economii (BEM) on the public TV channel, IPN reports.

“Mister Filat threatens me with lawsuits. I recommend him not to go to the national courts, but to go directly to the ECHR because he has a rich experience and knows what the ECHR says in his cases. The trial can last for two years. I urge Mister Filat to resolve the issue quicker. I’m ready to go together with him to the public TV channel to hold discussions. I assure you they will hold interest for all the citizens of Moldova,” stated Veaceslav Ionita.

“Everyone knows that there is a problem at the BEM and I hope that the international organizations and civil society will exert pressure so that this case does not die. I assure you that even if I’m dismissed today, the cases of the BEM and the Airport will go on. The threats with dismissal and lawsuits do not have an effect.”

Veaceslav Ionita said he identified at least 15 cases of data falsification at the BEM and this thing represents a raider attack on the judicial system. Earlier, the MP announced that at least 450 million lei was stolen from the bank trough different schemes that involved former Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
