The special commission that verifies the income and interest statements of the members of the National Integrity Commission (NIC) found a number of irregularities in these. Among those reported in Parliament today is the non-declaration of bank accounts and other property, including by the head of the NIC, IPN reports.

The special commission’s head, Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu said the NIC members inaccurately filled out the statements and incorrectly applied the procedure for cooperating with the competent public institutions and authorities. There weren’t indicated concrete facts and information about the object of the declaration, such as the value of the property that is not subject to assessment.

As to the NIC chairman Anatolie Donciu, the commission established that this didn’t declare a number of financial assets, such as bank accounts, and the fact that his wife works as the manager of a limited liability company.

According to Sergiu Sarbu, the report will be submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office, which is to establish if the members of the NIC broke the law and can be held accountable.

After listening to the report, the MPs criticized the members of the NIC for not obeying the law at a time when they themselves determine how the public servants obey the law when these declare their property. Some demanded that Anatolie Donciu should be dismissed, while others that the whole Commission should be discharged.

As no consensus could be reached, Head of Parliament Adrian Candu withdrew the issue from the agenda.
