Prime Minister Iurie Leanca requested representatives of the surveillance committee of the road sector program to make sure that the works to rehabilitate the national roads are not executed according to the ‘cheaper’ principle to the detriment of quality, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Government’s press service.
The Premier underlined that the programs to repair the national roads need to be extended and it is important to ensure transparency and exclude corruption.
“The Sarateni-Soroca road showed that it’s possible to build better roads. I don’t understand how a road can be rehabilitated by portions only. I went along the Balti-Orhei-Chisinau road yesterday and saw that several kilometers of the street were good and then the road was bad again. I hope things on the Chisinau-Ungheni road will not stand like this,” said the Premier.
On June 1, the Road Fund was 467.550 million lei.
