Among the seven localities where new mayoral elections are held today, the voters in Jora de Mijloc commune of Orhei distcrit are the most active ones. The voter turnout there at 1pm was 35.48%, IPN reports.
The turnout is the lowest in the municipality of Chisinau, where 103 636 voters or 16.36% of all those eligible to vote cast their ballots by 1pm.
In the municipality of Balti, the turnout was 17.4%, which means 18 308 voters marked their choice.
As many as 125 182 people voted in all the seven communities by 1pm.
For the elections to be valid, the voter turnout should be of at least 25%.
