President Nicolae Timofti, at the suggestion of the Supreme Council of Magistrates, signed a presidential decree to dismiss Nicolae Nogai from the post of judge of the Bender Appeals Court in connection with the passing of a definitive conviction decision, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.
On December 5, 2014, the Balti Appeals Court put the Bender Appeals Court judge Nicolae Nogai on probation for a period of three years for passing an illegal judgment that had serious consequences. The judge was also banned from holding public posts for a period of five years.
According to prosecutors, the judge groundlessly legalized the decision of a Saint Petersburg ad-hoc arbitration tribunal to sell a number of shareholdings in BC Moldova Agroindbank SA.
