Judges Nogai and Istrati suspended

The Bender Court of Appeals judge Nicolae Nogai and the judge of Riscani district Andrei Istrati were suspended from posts at the request of Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko. The decision was taken in the January 24 meeting of the Supreme Council of Magistrates, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Nicolae Timofti said the magistrates will be suspended while the cases involving them are examined.
Nicolae Nogai is suspected of legalizing the appropriation of almost 28% of the shares in Moldova Agroindbank through the agency of offshore companies. Andrei Istrati is suspected of being involved in the attempt to illegally obtain the property of Moldasig.
