The owners of agricultural land will not be notified of the payment of the mandatory health insurance premium in a fixed amount. Parliament gave a final reading to a bill that amends the law on the size, method and period of payment of the mandatory health insurance premiums, IPN reports.

Under the draft law, owners of land for agricultural purposes, except for gardens and plots for vegetable growing, will no longer have the obligation to pay the health policy, regardless of whether or not they leased out or used these lots on a contract basis, who simultaneously belong to the categories of unemployed persons insured by the Government or prove that they have been abroad for more than 183 calendar days during the budget year.

The changes were made following multiple requests from diaspora citizens who own agricultural land in the Republic of Moldova.
