A representative exhibition of national culture in visual arts brings into the focus 34 famous names of painters. The works present the performance of the Moldovan school of painting and the significance of the landscape painting genre in national culture, it is said in a press release of the National Museum of Arts of Moldova.

The Museum noted that the thematic exhibition “Landscape between Reality and Imagination” embodies a harmonious country ideal and the tendency to poetize the motives of life. Among the exhibited works are those by Gheorghe Jalbă, Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, Eleonora Romanescu, Mihail Petric and Tudor Zbârnea.

“It is important to know our culture and those who contributed to the creation of the national heritage. It is a national price to have painters exhibited at permanent exhibitions in Brussels, such as Serbinov, but it is even more important to know them at home, to talk about them and that the artists, for their part, feel valued in Moldova. The exhibition covers artists of the golden generation, such as Ada Zevin, Mihai Grecu, and also such contemporary painters as Gheorghe Oprea, Elena Bontea, Tudor Zbârnea,” the organizers of the event have told IPN.

The exhibition is open to the public until July 31.
