“Chisinau is a beautiful city. I realized it in only 10 minutes of the landing. I came here to find something new for me and my music,” Belgian-born singer Lara Fabian told a news conference in Chisinau. Today, April 1, she will give a concert at the National Palace in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The artist will sing her most popular songs like “Adajio”, “Je t`aime”, “To love again”, songs in French, Spanish and English. Lara Fabian said every song is a part of her. “My music characterizes me and represents me. Both the verses and the music are very important to me,” she said, adding that the lyrical music is closer to her heart, but she finds harmony in any type of music.
In 1988, Lara Fabian took part in Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Croire”. She represented Luxemburg and ranked fourth. She said the participation in Eurovision was an important stage in her life as she proved she can sing in front of millions of spectators and viewers. The singer encouraged Moldova's representatives at Eurovision 2010 to have confidence in their abilities.
The parents named her after the protagonist of the movie “Doctor Jivago” by Boris Pasternak. Lara Fabian said that though she bears the same name as the main character, she is not like her. “We are different by appearance and character. I do not want to have her fate,” she said. She also said that she reads Russian literature in translation with pleasure and that Lev Tolstoy is one of her favorite authors.
Lara Fabian's concert starts at 7 P.M. It is organized by Orange and forms part of the “Toutes les femmes en moi” tour that started in Belgium on March 3 and will continue in such countries as France, Russia, Armenia, Ukraine and Israel.
Lara Fabian came to Moldova for the first time. She leaves Chisinau on April 2.
