A number of 27,467 applications for the places available at universities have been submitted at the first stage of the admission contest. The faculties of law, pharmaceutics and stomatology are the most popular, with 51 applicants per one place, 42 applications, and, 31 applications respectively, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Education.
Among other popular specialties are: accountancy (30 applications per place), journalism (31), international relations (25), public alimentation technology and management (18), banks and finances (16).
The less popular specialties are: mathematics and informatics, geography and history, and ethnography at the Teacher Training University “Ion Creangă”, followed by languages and literature, civic education, and communication sciences at the Balti University.
The largest number of applications, compared with the number of places provided, was submitted to the State University of Moldova (4,921), the Technical University of Moldova (4,181), the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (4,053), and the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “N. Testemitanu” (1,813).
Until August 3, all the higher education establishments will post the intermediary admission results. By August 10, there will be announced the places that weren’t filled in the first admission stage. The second stage will take place on August 12-14. The results will be made public on August 20.
