Parliament on March 27 adopted a number of bills in the final reading. Among them is a bill providing that the population and dwelling census will be taken on May 12-25, IPN reports.
Under this bill, in addition to the questions agreed earlier, the people will be also asked about their nationality/ethnicity and the material used to build the external walls of the houses. The question about the personal identification code was removed.
The MPs also passed a bill on energy labels. In six months of the coming into force of the law, the domestic appliances and other devices with an energy impact will obligatorily contain a label showing how much energy they consume. According to the authorities, over 1 million households in Moldova will benefit from the energy efficiency policy.
Another bill passed in the final reading introduces a waste collection tax for villagers and a parking tax for private individuals and legal entities using a special place for temporarily leaving the units of transport. The executive authorities of the local public administration will be able to annually raise the local taxes, which must not yet exceed the inflation rate set for the previous year.
