A lawyer from Chisinau was arrested by officers of the National Anticorruption Center on suspicion of traffic of influence. According to the denouncer, the lawyer repeatedly asked from him for a cumulative sum of €9,350 for influencing the court decisions in a criminal lawsuit and a civil one started against the denouncer, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Center, the lawyer also asked for money from his client for influencing experts of the National Judicial Examination Center. The arrest was made at the parking lot of a Chisinau restaurant. A part of the money was found on the front seat of the lawyer’s car.
The lawyer faces three to seven years in jail and a fine of 10,000 to 30,000 lei for traffic of influence.
