The members of the Leanca group said they are ready to contribute to the restoration of the pro-European majority coalition in Parliament. They stated their option in the consultations with President Nicolae Timofti, IPN reports.
The consultations with the unaffiliated MPs led by Iurie Leanca, who form part of the European People’s Party, were staged with a view to designating a candidate for premiership.
In the meeting, the head of state underlined the necessity of forming a pro-European government, in accordance with the vote expressed by the people in the parliamentary elections of last November.
The Leanca group includes three unaffiliated MPs who withdrew from the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group.
