It is key that any decision adopted at local level remains within legal boundaries, stated today Prime Minister Iurie Leanca after meeting mayors and district leaders in Taraclia.
Iurie Leanca reiterated Chisinau's support in solving the problems of the country's south. “We plead for solving problems in a balanced manner”, the premier was quoted by a governmental press release as saying. He also promised support with attracting investment, and with developing and funding projects in the district.
Taraclia district head Alexandru Garanovschi welcomed Iurie Leanca's initiative to visit Taraclia and expressed his conviction that this will help to overcome a number of problems.
Earlier Taraclia's leadership adopted a decision in support of the Gagauz referendum on “external self-determination”, planning to hold “public consultations” of its own simultaneously with the referendum on February 2.
