The Cabinet approved a series of amendments to the legislation concerning the organization and running of local rescuer and firefighter posts and enhancement of anti-fire security in the residential sector.
The personnel of the local posts consist of employees and volunteers. The posts will be outfitted with intervention and special equipment. There are now 26 local rescuer and firefighter posts in Moldova that are funded with money from local budgets.
A series of measures will be taken to improve security at work by preventing cases of poisoning with toxic fumes. The bill with amendments lays down obligations for the supplier of natural gas and house owners as regards protection against fire. Among these are to exploit the cylinders of liquefied petroleum gas in strict compliance with the current regulations, to ensure the heating installations and devices work property and to annually examine the chimneys and ventilation shafts before the heating season.
The observance of the anti-fire rules will be monitored by private individuals and legal entities trained and accredited by an expert commission of the Rescuer and Firefighter Division of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
