Ex-governor of the National Bank of Moldova Leonid Talmaci was released from remand detention under judiciary control in the morning of March 7. The information was confirmed for IPN by lawyer Vitalie Nagachevski, who represents Talmaci.
The lawyer said Leonid Talmaci is still in the hospital.
The former governor was admitted to the Intensive Care Section of the Chisinau Emergency Hospital on March 4 after his state of health worsened. On March 3, the Buiucani Court ordered that Leonid Talmaci should be placed under arrest for 15 days.
The ex-governor of the central bank is accused of abuse of power, involvement in a criminal group specialized in swindles and causing of damage by fraud and abuse of confidence.
