The parliamentary group of the Liberal Party, in Thursday's sitting of the legislature, proposed instituting the Freedom Day on April 7. The Democrat MPs voted against the inclusion of the issue in the agenda, arguing time was needed to examine the legislative initiative, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu told the reporters that the Liberal group should have submitted the initiative earlier. “This hurry shows that April 7 is important only on April 7. I do not like such an approach,” he said.
The Liberal lawmakers' initiative will be discussed in the next sitting of Parliament on April 14. “We hope we will be supported on April 14. If our colleagues do not vote in favor of the bill, we will ask the Communists to support us,” the head of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said after the sitting.
