Liberal Party suggests condemning communism and banning communist symbols

The Liberal Party in the next meeting of the Alliance for European Integration will ask discussing in Parliament the proposal to condemn communism and ban the communist symbols, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I will insist that the Alliance examine the issue and adopt a decision. The Communists carry the hammer and sickle, while we go with a jar of honey around them. They speak about crimes, but they are the consequences of the occupation. They started to kill people, entering the homes at night, raping women and deporting people to Siberia. These crimes against humanity must be condemned,” Mihai Ghimpu said during a break in the Parliament’s sitting. The leader of the PL said such a situation can no more be tolerated and the hammer and sickle should be banned as they are covered in blood. “If the Liberal Party has a majority of seats in Parliament, the Communist Party in Moldova will be doomed to disappearance,” Mihai Ghimpu said, adding that if the Alliance does not support this initiative, the Liberal Party will also not support certain things.
