Liberals did not go to CMC meeting because they followed Communist MPs’ example, Mihai Ghimpu

The Liberals did not attend the meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) because they followed the example of the Communist lawmakers, who have boycotted the sittings of the legislative body for several weeks, the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Mihai Ghimpu stressed that the discussions on cooperation between the components of the Alliance for European Integration at local level should be finished first. “The discussions will end these days and, if everything is fine, the Liberals will go to the next meeting,” he said. The leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said the councilors of the PLDM were absent from the CMC meeting because they made common cause with their colleagues from the alliance. The meeting to constitute the Chisinau Municipal Council scheduled for Friday did not take place because the quorum was not present. Only the councilors representing the Communist Party convened.
