The creation of conditions that will enable the young people to remain in the country is a challenge for Moldova. That’s why the Principality of Liechtenstein will continue to support the vocational-professional training of young people in the Republic of Moldova, the Prime Minister of Liechtenstein Adrian Hasler, who is paying a visit to Moldova during March 12-13, stated in a news conference, IPN reports.
According to Adrian Hasler, the well-trained young people with high qualifications will contribute to the economic growth of the country. Since 2007, when an agreement on humanitarian assistance and technical cooperation was signed by the governments of the two states, Liechtenstein has developed and implemented projects to the value of €12 million in Moldova, mainly in the education sector. “This agreement expresses the solidarity and support that exists between our countries. It is a manifestation of our successful cooperation with the Republic of Moldova,” stated the Premier.
For his part, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the first visit paid by a Premier of Liechtenstein to Moldova represents the basis of a new stage in the relations between the two states. He noted the activity of the Liechtenstein Development Service in Moldova, describing it as a service of the government and civil society. During ten years of work, the Liechtenstein Development Service helped implement multiple projects in priority sectors for the population, such as technical professional education, employment of young people, entrepreneurial activities and promotion of quality in early education.
“Education for the Republic of Moldova is a priority. Currently, a new strategy is being worked out in the field and emphasis is placed on vocational education. The experience of Liechtenstein in this regard is very valuable for us,” stated Pavel Filip.
He also said that in the meeting that preceded the news conference, they considered possibilities of organizing a forum of businesspeople of the two states and of developing the investment potential of Liechtenstein in Moldova, particularly in the financial-banking and production sectors.
While in Moldova, Adrian Hasler will visit several facilities that benefit from financing from the Liechtenstein Development Service.
The Republic of Moldova and Liechtenstein established diplomatic relations in 2001.
