A lieutenant-colonel of the Cahul Military Commissariat was caught in the act of taking a €400 bribe, the CCCEC press service reported.
The lieutenant-colonel requested and received €400 from a student for issuing a service record, even though the student hadn’t submitted the admission documents at the Military Department.
Several control deliveries were done under the supervision of CCCEC workers. The arrest took place near the Military Policlinic, where €50 marked “CCCEC bribe” was found in the pocket of the suspect, who voluntarily gave up the money.
The suspect was charged with “passive corruption” under Art. 324(2)(c) of the Criminal Code, a crime punishable by prison between 5 and 10 years, fine from 1000 to 3000 conventional units and a ban from certain functions or activity for 2 to 5 years.
