LLC Moldretail Group, which owns the supermarket chains Linella and Fidesco, intends to procure 100% of the share capital of the enterprise Fourchette-M. The Competition Council says it is considering the notification of an economic concentration through this acquisition, IPN reports.
The institution noted that on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, the parties involved in the notified economic concentration purchase and sell predominantly food products, retailing these through their own chains.
In order to determine the compatibility of the concentration with the normal competition environment, the Council will examine the notified transaction. “The Competition Council is interested in obtaining observations and points of view from third-party economic agents regarding how the notified economic concentration affects or can affect market competition,” reads a press release.
LLC Moldretail Group owns the supermarkets Linella, Fidesco, Chip Market, Bravo and Slavena Megamarket, which retail mainly foodstuffs. LLC Fourchette-M owns the food stores Fourchette and To-To.
