Lithuania donates COVID-19 vaccine to Moldova

A consignment of 26,500 AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) vaccine doses donated by Lithuania will be shipped to Moldova on August 11, epidemiologist Veaceslav Guțu, coordinator of the national COVID-19 immunization campaign, informed in a news conference on August 10, being quoted by IPN.

By the end of this month, the Republic of Moldova will also receive 5,850 Pfizer vaccine doses purchased by the national authorities.

Veaceslav Guțu noted that 7,020 Pfizer vaccine doses bought by the Republic of Moldova were already delivered to Chisinau. Moldova also received 30,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses donated by Latvia.  

More than 1.567 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been shipped to Moldova since the national vaccination campaign was launched. Of all the vaccines, the AstraZeneca doses were over 95% used, Sputnik – over 98%, Pfizer – over 65%, Sinopharm – over 30%, Sinovac – over 82%, while Johnson&Johnson – over 27%.
