Local elected officials of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) in Ocnita district support the formation of the parliamentary coalition and the investiture of the Government headed by Pavel Filip, IPN reports, quoting a statement of the given local elected officials. The statement is addressed to the people of Moldova. Its signatories accuse the leadership of the PLDM of pursuing the goal of provoking early elections.

“We make a public statement by which we want to assure you that we are for stability and peace in the country. The political crisis in Chisinau is close to an end and a pro-European government is to be voted in the coming days. We need a stable government that will take measures in support of the districts. For us, it is important for this Government to show openness to our district and to unblock the funds for development and investments. If they help us this way, we will be able to manage efficiently the local affairs by ourselves,” reads the statement.

The local elected officials accuse the administration of the PLDM of taking the party to the opposition, of being interested in provoking early elections and of playing the game of other parties.

“You probably know that the PLDM does not unanimously support this decision of ours. In fact, the administration of the PLDM last week adopted the decision to join the opposition and does everything possible to cause early legislative elections. We do not support these measures by the leaders of the PLDM. They are not in the district’s interests. We understand that the Socialists and their allies want early elections in order to seize power. These have their own interests. But what excuses do the administration of the PLDM, the Liberal-Democratic leaders have to oppose the promotion of Moldova’s interests? We think the decision of the PLDM’s leaders to act in opposition to a pro-European government is a mistake that will cost the party’s image and his will become evident during the next few years,” it is said in the statement.

The signatories express their hope that more members of the PLDM will subscribe to this opinion and will react so that they all give a hope to the Moldovan people by decisions that will represent their interests.
