The Main State Tax Inspectorate said the information about the tax evasion committed by an employee of the institution was disseminated with the aim of damaging the image of the Inspectorate, distorting the real situation and misinforming the public, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference, Andrei Donica, leader of the Association for the Prevention and Combating of Economic Crime and Corruption, said that the head of the training center of the Main State Tax Inspectorate committed tax evasion at a café that he opened inside the building where he worked. The café worked without a cash register. According to a communiqué from the Tax Inspectorate, Dumitru Rusu, the employee who was accused by an NGO of tax evasion, was punished administratively for opening the café without informing the institution’s administration. The Inspectorate informed that the eatery no longer works.
