Sergei Pesterev, who claims to be "harmed by the actions of a proven offender", accuses the Prosecutor's office of falsifying evidence in order to take the offender off the hook, even after the Court of Appeal found him guilty.
In a press conference at IPN, Sergei Pesterev said that he was attacked in the street by his neighbour, Vladimir Munteanu, in October 2017. The alleged reason would be the basement of the building where they live, which the latter appropriated and locked up. According to the man, as his family wrote several complaints against their neighbour, Munteanu gives him a hard time. Sergei Pesterev says that Vladimir Munteanu is the head of a security company and that he enjoys the prosecutor’s protection.
The man stated that, in November 2017, based on a false report of the neighbour, he ended up with a criminal case for "intentional medium bodily harm". But in court, Sergey Pesterev says he proved his innocence. During the investigations, a criminal case for hooliganism, as well as for robbery, was initiated against the neighbour this time. Later, the court found that in Vladimir Munteanu's actions there was no criminal component and the cases were closed. However, the decision was contested in the Court of Appeal, where Sergei Pesterev says that he has won the case.
The ruling of the Court of Appeal was issued on June 17 this year. According to Sergei Pesterev, even if there is a ruling of the Court of Appeal, the prosecutor continues to fabricate evidence to take his neighbour off the hook. Sergei Pesterev also says that, two days after the ruling had been made, his father was beaten in the street and he presumes that this attack is related to the conflict with Vladimir Munteanu.
The man also says that he is not ready to accept an amicable settlement because his honour and dignity have been harmed.
