Man and woman die poisoned with unfermented wine

A husband and wife from Iargara village of Leova district got poisoned with carbon monoxide from wine under fermentation in their cellar, Info-Prim Neo reports. Civil Protection and Emergencies Service spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo that the man aged 76 was the first to die. A neighbor saw him lying in the yard. In the cellar, he found the 80-year-old woman who was still alive. She died on the way to the hospital. The two went into the cellar and lost their consciousness owing to the gas emitted by the wine. The man recovered and crawled out, but did not manage to cry for help. The bodies of the man and woman were taken to the morgue.
