A man aged 30 was arrested by the police for trying to bribe the police officer who found drugs in his vehicle, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the drugs were found within investigation operations performed by prosecutors and the police. The driver offered the patrolling inspector 2,800 lei for hushing up the case. The policeman refused to take the bribe. The man was arrested for 72 hours and is to be soon issued with the indictment.
If the man is found guilty of passive corruption, he will serve up to six years in jail. He will also be fined up to 80,000 lei.
