A man from Cahul is suspected of traffic of influence. He is a senior master at the Cahul Vocational School and was earlier fined 41,000 lei for acts of corruption, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, this time the culprit was caught after he was denounced by a person from whom he asked for €300. The man said he has influence on officials of the Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Section of Ceadir-Lunga, who can help this person easier pass the exam and get a driver’s license.
The culprit was arrested near the Cahul mayor’s office. He voluntarily handed over the money. The prosecutors suspect that he is involved in a larger network that employs illegal schemes.
The man faces two to six years in jail and a fine of 60,000 to 80,000 lei.
