Man dies from carbon monoxide poisoning

A man aged 56 from Cioara village of Hancesti district died after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning in a house fire. The cause of fire has not been yet determined. Liliana Puscasu, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that neighbors saw smoke coming out and called the firefighters. The fire badly damaged a room of the house, where there was discovered the body of the man. The man lived with his wife, who was at work in the district at that time. It is not excluded that the fire was caused by a smoldering cigarette. An investigation is under way. According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, one person was killed in the seven fires that happened in the country on the night of January 28.
