A man aged 53 from Marinici village of Nisporeni district died at a building site on Albisoara St in Chisinau in the afternoon of March 6. The man, who had a severe head injury, was allegedly hit by a board that fell from the scaffolding.
Adrian Jovmir, head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Divison, has told IPN hat the man was still alive when the ambulance arrived, but efforts to resuscitate him failed.
Petru Cravet, who is responsible for relations with the media at the Chisinau Emergency Hospital, said the man suffered an open head trauma with abundant hemorrhage. When the ambulance arrived, the man had a pulse, but the doctors were unable to save him.
The police will start a criminal case, while the State Labor Inspectorate will hold an internal inquiry to determine if the man worked legally and if the employer ensured workers’ protection on the building site.
