Man gets 6 years in domestic violence case involving stabbing

A Calarasi man was sentenced to 6 years in prison for stabbing his domestic partner with a knife in the presence of her child, the Prosecutor General's Office said in a press release. A month before the stabbing, the man, 41, was ordered by the Calarasi Prosecutor Office to stay at least 50 meters away from the woman. However, the man ignored the protection order and entered the woman's apartment, where he assaulted her with a knife. The woman was hospitalized for surgery. The sentence is appealable.
