A 37-year-old man from Ocnița district was sentenced to three years in jail for rape attempt. The victim is a woman aged 77, who managed to escape, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, one evening this September, the man, being in a village of Ocnița district, entered the home of the woman who was lying in bed. He put her down on the floor and tried to rape her, but the woman managed to run away.
The man accepted blame and his case was examined according to a simplified procedure. He was in remand detention up to the moment the Ocnița Court passed judgment. The sentence is definitive and can be challenged in the Balti Appeals Court.
