The Prosecutor’s Office completed the investigation and sent to court the case of the man who in August attacked a drinking companion with an ax in Telecentru quarter of Chisinau. The attacker was inebriated, IPN reports.
The culprit is 38 and is from the northern district of Râșcani.
According to prosecutors, the man who is accused of murder attempt hit the victim in the head for three times with the ax. The injuries sustained by the victim were classed as light bodily injuries.
The accused had been earlier convicted of other offenses.
Also today, the Prosecutor’s Office announced that two young men from Fălești district were sentenced to 10 years and a half and, respectively, to 11 years and a half in jail for murdering a villager in July.
The convicted men are aged 24 and 31. They both admitted their guilt. The sentence is not yet final and can be challenged in the Balti Appeals Court within 15 days.
