The man who this spring killed his former wife and threw the body in the garbage was sentenced to 13 years in jail for premeditated murder committed with special cruelty. This admitted his guilt and asked that the case should be tried according to a simplified procedure. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The woman’s body was found by a street sweeper in a bag near a garbage container on Sucevita St in Buiucani district of Chisinau on March 13 this year. It was established that the man strangled his ex-wife aged 29 while this was sleeping. To hide the crime, he put the body in a bag and threw it in the garbage.
The man was arrested shortly afterward and was under arrest until now. He earlier worked in the Border Police, while the victim served at the Ministry of the Interior.
