The director, founder and sales manager of two building companies will be tried for committing illegalities when erecting apartment buildings as a result of which over 71 investors suffered damage, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the criminal case was sent to court. In 2012, in breach of the law and of the execution project, the culprits illegally build additional stories on three new apartment buildings located at 115 Alexandru cel Bun St in Chisinau. This way, they illegally signed 71 investment contracts for building apartments on these stories.
The culprits unjustifiably collected over 52 million lei from the investors, causing considerable damage to them as the blocks haven’t been yet made available for occupancy. In 2014 - 2015, the culprits used a part of the money collected from investors for personal purposes. The damage caused by them was estimated at 101 million lei.
The given persons are also investigated in another two similar criminal cases, started over embezzlement of €300,000 for building homes on the streets Cuza Voda and Sfantul Andrei.
The culprits face fines of 67 500 lei to 117 500 lei or two to six years in jail, in both of the cases with ban on performing particular activities or holding particular posts for two to five years.
