Marian Lupu orders investigating incident in Galati

Acting President Marian Lupu instructed performing an investigation and elucidating all the circumstances of the incident in which a Moldovan citizen was seriously wounded at the Giurgiulesti-Galati border crossing point, on the Moldovan-Romanian state border, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the presidential office. Marian Lupu requested that the relevant bodies, in the cooperation with the Romanian border authorities, make effort to avoid the repeat of such regrettable situations. A Moldovan citizen was wounded on January 15, when he presented himself at the Galati border crossing point. He refused to go through all the formalities as he had contraband cigarettes in his car and tried to return to Moldova. A policeman opened fire when he did not want to stop.
