The chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said that concessions must be made in a coalition. He criticized the politicians who struggle to gain control of the state institutions. He made such statements in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

Marian Lupu stated that he does not pay attention to rumors, gossip and other challenges and for him it is the people’s opinion that counts. In this connection, he mentioned the field trips made the previous days, saying he discovered many problems that must be solved as a result of the discussions with the people. Lupu added that for him it is not so important to top the list of candidates and it is the people who will decide who should head it.

Speaking about the opinions of experts from abroad, Marian Lupu said the opinions abroad are many and different. “We examine them, draw conclusions and go on. We would be concerned if they spoke only nice things about us,” he stated.

The leader of the PDM considers that emphasis should be put on the implementation of reforms and the scored results. “We do not affirm that we will join the European Union in 2-3 years. We want the country to be prepared for this accession first,” he said.

Asked to state his opinion about businessmen Ilan Shor and Renato Usatyi, Marian Lupu said he does not know them, but believes that any rapid ascension and gaining of control of important companies is impossible without political support.

As to the possibility of the ruling parties to create an electoral bloc, the leader of the PDM rejected this idea. “I think such a practice would have been good, but relevant discussions should have been held earlier. I consider it was a political game, though I believe in Iurie Leanca’s sincerity because he wasn’t involved in the political crisis of last year,” he stated.
