“It is hard to comment, especially because there is not much content,” Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said about the warning given by the Communist MP Sergiu Sarbu after the July 8 hearing of the Balti Court of Appeals. Sarbu said that Moldova will witness political surprises, adding he who laughs last laughs longest, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I think such declarations should be made openly so that we have what to comment. It is not the first statement of the kind. Similar declarations were made the last days and the last weeks,” Marian Lupu told the press.
According to the Speaker, the parties in Moldova have the right to adopt decisions by themselves and they suffer the consequences of these decisions.
On July 8, the Balti Court of Appeals upheld the primary court’s decision to validate the seat of mayor of Dorin Chirtoaca. After the decision was passed, the Communist Party’s representative Sergiu Sarbu said the PCRM will sue Moldova at the ECHR because the national legislation was flouted. He also said that there will be a surprise at political level in 3-4 months, but did not give details.
