Two men from Criuleni district were sentenced to 20 and 25 years in jail for a crime committed 16 years ago, while two accomplices of theirs were put on the wanted list, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, four persons with balaclavas entered a house in a village of Criuleni district in December 1997. In the house, there were a woman and her daughter, who recently returned from Russia where they worked, and a female neighbor together with her minor son. The women were beaten cruelly, tied and tortured. The culprits stole money and property to the value of over 15,000 lei.
The neighbor died as a result of the received injuries. Her son aged three was an eyewitness.
